Christmas is around the corner but don’t worry, there is still plenty of time to work on your home decor! We have put together 5 of our top tips on how to style each room in your home in time for Christmas, and even get the kids involved with some festive family fun.

1. Keep it festively simple

To avoid turning your home into Santa’s grotto, we love to add a festive touch to each room in the house without creating too much clutter. Styling mini displays such as a little festive greenery to your window sill, a Christmas garland to the mantelpiece or a foliage wall hanging is just enough to add a touch of Christmas spirit to the room. After all, you’ve worked hard to design your personal home décor style and we don’t want to take away from your masterpiece.

2. Get the kids involved

Christmas is the perfect opportunity to get creative! Plan a day for the whole family to get together and make some beautiful decorations – they will mean so much more if you had great memories making them. Make a Christmas wreath for your front door, a Christmas bough to hang above your dinner table or a garland to drape in the kids rooms.

3. Let there be light

Nothing creates a festive atmosphere like lighting. Adding lanterns to your hallway or bathroom with a few bits of twig/greenery is a great way to give a Christmas feel to any room. We also love these DIY hanging luminaires stars to make your front porch pop and get recognised amongst the neighbours!

4. Choose colours that match your scheme

Red, green and gold may spring to mind when you think of Christmas décor, but 2019 Christmas colour trends focus on a palette that’s much easier on the eye (and your home colour scheme). Think deep midnight blues, aquamarine hues and teal green to experiment with on your Christmas tree or as accent colours throughout your home.

5. Because we love nature

Another key trend for Christmas 2019 is nature and bringing the outdoors in with plants and greenery. Why not be playful this Christmas and swap out the fake pine tree for a beautifully fragrant Eucalyptus tree? You can also snip off some twigs to decorate the rest of your home with!
