How did you fall into real estate?
I have been in sales for 25 years and have always had great satisfaction in helping people. I was ready for a change and It felt like the perfect next step from mortgage broking.
I rang the principal of a local real estate office in which I wanted to work and asked for a start. Here I am!
What do you like about working in real estate?
I love the challenges and the success that comes with listing and selling property along with the relationships I build with my clients.
What impact do you think being female has had on the success of your career?
From a very young age I have always worked in male dominated industries where I have had to prove myself. This has given me the strength and determination to work harder and achieve exactly what I set out to achieve and more.
My life experiences have taught me understanding and empathy towards my clients. A brilliant trait to have whilst dealing with so many different people and situations during the sales process. I have a true understanding and connection with my clients. It isn’t just transactional.
What would your advice be for a woman looking to embark a career in real estate?
Absolutely go for it. It is an industry where you are rewarded for the effort you put in. The support of women in real estate is huge and only getting better.
If you had one piece of advice to give your younger self what would it be?
The advice I would give to my younger self would be authenticity. You will always be happiest when you are true to yourself!
