On the fringe of Sydney, one hours drive south west of the CBD, sits a hugely diverse, thriving area known as the Macarthur Region. Geographically, the area is enormous – close to double the size of Sydney. The region itself encompasses a delightful blend of modern, family-friendly suburbs such as Gregory Hills and Narrellan and idyllic stretches of countryside including the towns of Cobbitty and Camden.

The growth of the Macarthur Region in recent years can really only be described as explosive. In fact, it is one of the fastest growing areas in New South Wales. This explosive growth can mainly be attributed to the many new residential suburbs that  have been developed over the last decade.

Each of these emerging suburbs have been thoughtfully planned within close proximity to public transport, schools, shopping centres and everyday amenities such as parks, museums and libraries. Over 100,000 newly built homes within these communities cover all buyers – they are perfect for first home buyers, upsizers, downsizers  and investors. From two bedroom apartments to four bedroom homes – there really is something for every buyer and every budget.

It’s hard to believe these vibrant, bustling new suburbs are bordered by endless stretches of rural countryside. The likes of Camden, Menangle and Razorback have a boutique feel thanks to a plethora of old pubs, coffee shops and cute stores. These areas on the outskirts of the Macarthur Region are rich in history and comparable to more well known towns such as Bowral.

Whilst the inner suburbs of the region are dotted with many homes that mirror city-suburbia, the outer suburbs boast homes on sprawling land – anywhere from one to one hundred acre properties.

One such property which is currently on the market is 50 Burrells Road. Nestled in the foothills of Menangle and set on five acres – this property is simply breathtaking. This American-Victorian inspired homestead epitomises refined country-style living. The home seamlessly blends old-world grace with new-world comfort. Expansive windows honour the beauty of the sweeping countryside and bring the outside in. It’s hard to believe that a home with such grandeur, set on such a magnificent block of land is a mere hour from the CBD.

It’s these unrivalled buying opportunities coupled with explosive growth that makes the Macarthur Region one of the most sought after areas in New South Wales. The region, bordered by scenic hills, nature reserves and the Georges and Nepean River sits on the doorstep of Sydney and is the gateway to both the Southern Highlands and South Coast.
