Some of our incredible Stone men have taken part in Movember this month – an organisation that tackles prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention amongst men. The hairy journey of the Movember organisation began in 2003 when two friends from Melbourne realised that the moustache had disappeared from fashion trends and found 30 guys that were willing to take up the challenge and grow a Mo. Inspired by the Mo’s ability to generate a conversation, the guys decided to take things to the next level and challenge Mo Bro’s worldwide to grow a Mo in aid of men’s health.

Our Stone Mo Bro’s

Our first Stone Mo Bro is Craig Huckle, principal from Stone Albury/Wodonga, who wanted to raise some money for mental health and suicide prevention.

“This subject is very close to me and it is so important that we guys “Man UP”, it’s bloody hard some days and it’s a struggle to keep it going. But most importantly, it’s OK if we “lose it” sometimes, we just need to remember there are people who can help and that we can talk with” Craig Huckle.

Well done to Craig and his amazingly furry Mo.

Our next Mo Bro is Rick Pignetti, Auctioneer at Stone Five Dock, who also wanted to help men worldwide to get the support that they need when it comes to mental health.

“Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.” Rick Pignetti

Well done to Rick on rising to the challenge with his bushy Mo.

Our final Mo Bro story is a very special one. Tracy Black from our Stone Manly office, shared her husband Colin’s journey with us. Colin is a prostate cancer survivor and so is very much in support of the Movember organisation. Colin grew a Mo and raised $1,500 with huge support from his friends, family and their 3 adorable little Mo-men.

Together the Stone Mo Bro’s have raised nearly $3,500 for the Movember organisation. Although they have grown a little attached to their Mo’s, it’s safe to say that they are looking forward to a clean shave now that we have reached December!
